The company and its aircraft
The Messerschmitt corporate name was adopted in 1938. The company became particularly associated with the Bf 109 and Me 262, while earlier designs such as the Bf 108 carried their own histories. After the war, successive mergers led through Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm and Deutsche Aerospace.
