The company and its aircraft

Clyde Cessna and Victor Roos founded the Cessna Aircraft Company in 1927. The company became known for piston aircraft as well as business jets, and Textron acquired it in 1992. In 2014 it became one of the brands within Textron Aviation alongside Beechcraft and Hawker. That shared parent does not erase the separate aircraft families built under each name.
