The company and its aircraft
The Pitts Special family began with Curtis Pitts’s compact aerobatic biplanes. Its S-1 and S-2 designations distinguish the principal single- and two-seat lines. Aircraft were produced through different arrangements over time, including Aviat; the Pitts name here follows the design family rather than implying one continuous corporate owner.
