The company and its aircraft
Waco began as the Weaver Aircraft Company of Ohio and adopted the Waco Aircraft Company name in the late 1920s. Based in Troy, it produced many civil biplanes. The CG-4A glider is a different part of that history and retains its own wartime programme context in the aircraft reference.
