Meet Beechcraft T-6 Texan II
The Texan II is a turboprop training aircraft with tandem seating and retractable landing gear. The U.S. Air Force describes the T-6A as the aircraft used to establish the basic skills for later training tracks. Its contemporary cockpit and turbine engine belong to a separate aircraft lineage from the piston-powered North American T-6 that shares the Texan name.
History & design
A basic trainer for several later paths
The Air Force’s T-6A fact sheet describes its role in joint primary pilot training. AOA, Blackbird and IRIS represent the aircraft through different simulator products. Their manuals, equipment and supported editions require separate reading, even though the reference aircraft family is shared.

Mechanical controls and electric trim
Blackbird’s manual explains the reversible control linkages and the pitch bobweight/downspring. Its trim aid device acts through rudder trim, which is a different axis from roll trim. The shaker’s warning threshold is described in the aircraft’s AoA units, so those indicated units should be retained when reading its envelope information.

Product-specific equipment
AOA’s documentation describes its own TAD, automatic-flight and convenience options. IRIS’s manual is another implementation, rather than a source for every AOA cockpit switch. The Blackbird MSFS 2024 fault notice remains an edition-specific issue in that product’s current documentation.
