Meet CRZ Studio Chinook SJ
CRZ Studio’s Chinook SJ is a fixed-wing ultralight with a 64-hp Rotax 582 UL pusher engine. The developer documents modelled mechanical control linkages and a native MSFS 2024 rendition. This is the Chinook ultralight, a separate aircraft from the Boeing tandem-rotor helicopter.
History & design
A Canadian ultralight kept in production
The Chinook began as a Birdman design before the Holomis family acquired it and continued production through ASAP. Dan Johnson describes the subsequent Chinook Plus 2 as a substantially refined two-seater that retained the earlier aircraft's flying character. A broad, transparent tandem cabin and triangulated structure made it useful for instruction and recreational bush flying. His account concerns the Plus 2; the CRZ Chinook SJ rendition must retain its own documented configuration.

After flying the Plus 2, Johnson singled out its unusually roomy rear seat and panoramic visibility. He also described dual controls and the use of tundra wheels or floats. These are observations of the aircraft he flew, rather than proof that every option or control effect appears in CRZ's simulator model.
