Meet Embraer EMB-121 Xingu
Embraer’s Xingu first flew on 22 October 1976. The manufacturer identifies it as the first pressurized aircraft designed and built in Brazil, with an original executive-transport arrangement accommodating up to eight passengers.
History & design
Embraer enters pressurised executive aviation
The Xingu grew from Embraer's Project 12X studies of a pressurised turboprop family during the 1970s oil crisis. It first flew on 22 October 1976, initially without pressurisation operating; a pressurised test followed in May 1977. The Brazilian Air Force became the first customer.
The prototype appeared at the 1977 Paris Air Show after an Atlantic crossing with a Bandeirante. Civil approval followed in 1979, and France adopted the Xingu for pilot training from 1983. Those roles explain its combination of an executive cabin and a long second career as a twin-engine trainer.

A T-tail above the propeller wake
Embraer describes the high-mounted horizontal tail as a way to keep it away from direct propeller wash and reduce vibration. Pressurisation was another defining step for the programme. These are features of the aircraft architecture; they do not establish the exact feedback produced by a simulator add-on.
