Aircraft background

Aircraft and simulator background

The Sting S4's POH describes mechanical primary controls. An in-flight adjustable elevator tab provides pitch trim; tabs on the rudder and right aileron are adjusted on the ground. Electric flaps have discrete settings.

HOW IT CAME TO BE

History & design

The Sting’s composite ancestry

The Sting family followed the composite TL96 Star. TL-ULTRALIGHT’s history identifies the TL2000 Sting Carbon, the light-sport Sting S3 and the retractable-gear Sting RG as stages in that development. These names describe different configurations within the family.

Condition and maintenance in the simulator

FSReborn’s EFB manages fuel and loading alongside tyre pressure, brake wear, battery charge and engine condition. The developer describes temperature-dependent choke behaviour and a maintenance system that can produce failures as components deteriorate. Its ballistic rescue system is also simulated. These features mean that aircraft condition can change the experience between flights; they are documented add-on systems, separate from the real S4 handbook’s mechanical controls and trim arrangement.
