The company and its aircraft
Embraer was founded in 1969 with Brazilian government backing to develop a domestic aircraft industry. Commuter and regional aircraft became an important export business, and the company was privatised in 1994. Its later expansion included larger regional jets and business aircraft, represented here by separate E-Jet, ERJ and Phenom families.
