Meet CAC Boomerang
Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation developed the Boomerang to meet Australia’s urgent wartime need for a fighter. The project drew on experience with the Wirraway and produced a single-seat, low-wing aircraft powered by a Pratt & Whitney Twin Wasp radial engine.
The first Boomerang flew in May 1942, and the aircraft became particularly associated with supporting ground forces. Microsoft’s Local Legend 24 represents the type as a separately released simulator aircraft.
