The simulator also offers optional navigation equipment. Its later WTT support names the GTN650; the earlier feature-list reference to a GTN750 conflicts with the FAQ and is retained as a documentation discrepancy.

History & design
Early carrier service
The Wildcat equipped US Navy and Marine units during the early Pacific war. Aircraft ordered for France instead reached Britain after France’s defeat, serving the Fleet Air Arm under the name Martlet.

Production continues at Eastern Aircraft
As Grumman shifted toward Hellcat production in 1943, Wildcat tooling moved to General Motors’ Eastern Aircraft Division. Its FM-1 and FM-2 continued the family: the Wildcat’s compact size and weight suited the smaller escort carriers that still needed fighters.
