THE AIRCRAFT

Meet Saab 340B

Saab and Fairchild developed the 340 around short regional routes. Its low wing carries two turboprops, while the cabin uses a three-abreast seating arrangement. The programme subsequently continued under Saab after Fairchild's withdrawal.

The 340A and 340B represent different developments, and later cockpit equipment can vary by operator. The 340B in this catalogue should consequently be matched to its own simulator manual. It is a useful comparison with larger high-wing regional turboprops such as the ATR and Dash 8.
