Meet Stinson L-5 Sentinel
The L-5 served US forces and the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. Its light structure and compact dimensions suited observation, communications and other front-line support tasks. Some developments were arranged for casualty evacuation.
Although it resembles civilian light aircraft of the period, the Sentinel was developed specifically for military use. Its equipment and cabin purpose therefore deserve their own description rather than being inferred from another fabric-covered high-wing aeroplane.
