Aircraft and simulator background
Vertigo develops the VL3's outline into a simulator turboprop racer. Its developer describes a PT6A-42A producing 850 hp, a six-bladed constant-speed propeller and retractable landing gear. The aircraft is a modified simulator design with performance figures published for that rendition.

The developer's Vertigo release replaces the VL3-inspired aircraft's propulsion with an 850 hp PT6A-42A and a six-bladed constant-speed propeller. Its published 270 KIAS and 357 KTAS at FL200 example describes different speed measures. The release also lists 140-knot gear and 180-knot flap limits, whose applicability belongs to that software version.

The original release material distinguishes indicated speed from true airspeed: its example pairs 270 KIAS with 357 KTAS at FL200. Later Got Friends notes record MSFS 2024 compatibility and revised trim and flap indications.

History & design
A light-aircraft shape becomes a turbine racer
GotGravel introduced Vertigo in April 2021 as a virtual turboprop racer inspired by Mike Patey’s Turbulence. The concept paired a heavily modified VL3-derived airframe with an 850 hp PT6A and a six-bladed propeller. Its performance belongs to the modification, rather than the standard JMB aircraft.

Following changes in the simulator
The December 2022 v2.0 update rebuilt the flight model around newer simulator capabilities, revised takeoff propeller performance and improved ground handling and suspension. Its change log shows why observations from early releases may differ from later versions.

Moving the older design forward
Got Friends’ October 2025 compatibility update included Vertigo v1.0.5 with MSFS 2024 work and changes to the trim and flap indicators. This later package numbering belongs to the Got Friends distribution history, separate from the earlier GotGravel v2.0 announcement.
