Meet Heart Aerospace ES-30
Heart Aerospace replaced its 19-seat ES-19 proposal with the 30-seat ES-30 concept in 2022. The proposed airliner combines electric propulsion with a hybrid system intended to extend its operating flexibility. Heart unveiled its full-scale X1 demonstrator in 2024.
Microsoft Flight Simulator represents the ES-30 as a developing aircraft concept. X1 is a demonstrator; its configuration and test flights do not establish the production airliner's eventual performance.

History & design
X1 makes its first flight in August 2026
Heart reports that its full-scale X1 demonstrator flew from Plattsburgh, New York, on 12 August 2026. The battery-electric flight lasted 27 minutes and reached 1,100 feet above ground level. The test included takeoff, climb, manoeuvring and landing.

Production-aircraft testing remains ahead
In the same announcement, Heart said the first pre-production ES-30 was being developed in Los Angeles, with flight testing planned for 2028 and entry into service targeted for 2031. Those are programme targets, rather than completed milestones.

The demonstrator and the planned airliner have different roles
Heart describes X1 as the test programme supporting its planned 30-seat hybrid-electric ES-30. The demonstrator’s initial flight envelope concerns low-altitude, battery-electric operation. Its flights do not establish the production airliner’s eventual range or airline operating performance.
