History & design
Developing the over-wing mount
Honda's account identifies engine placement as a central design problem. In 1997 Michimasa Fujino developed and patented an over-wing mounting arrangement intended to improve aerodynamics while releasing cabin space from the rear engine installation. That arrangement became a defining feature of the HondaJet.
