History & design
A Cub in military service
Ken Wakefield's account in the developer manual identifies the L-4 as the military J-3 Cub. He describes wartime liaison work, artillery observation and carrying mail or personnel between headquarters and command posts. Its 65 hp Continental engine and small airframe allowed operation from improvised strips near those units.
