Meet Velocity XL
The XL developed from Velocity's smaller SE design for amateur construction. The canard layout and pusher arrangement make it visually distinct from conventional tail-aft touring aircraft. This page concerns the XL lineage, with the scope of real-aircraft figures kept separate from Black Square's simulator equipment and systems.
History & design
A canard with room to grow
The XL enlarged Velocity’s earlier SE design while retaining its distinctive canard layout and rear-mounted engine. Fixed and retractable landing gear versions exist, as do four- and five-seat cabin arrangements. As a kit aircraft it can also have different engine installations. Specifications for one example describe that configuration, rather than every aircraft a builder might complete.
