FOR AIRCRAFT DEVELOPERS

Research aircraft and systems

Find aircraft background, systems descriptions and manuals for the aircraft you are researching. Each note keeps its source and version context close by.

Simulator manuals describe the developer’s implementation. Aircraft background is research-based; pilot accounts describe an individual’s experience. Coverage here is limited to the selected notes and linked resources, not the full contents of every manual.

Simple controls and simulator assignments

The manual identifies pitch trim and no wing flaps. Its choke uses the simulator's Spoiler axis, so that assignment operates an engine control. The listed 55–65 mph cruise, 28–31 mph stall and 100 mph Vne retain their original mph units.

Mini-Max 1500R Sport

The 1500R Sport develops Wayne Ison's Mini-Max line, using wood truss construction and fabric covering. A streamlined cowling and spinner accompany its 40 hp two-stroke Rotax 447. The fixed 17-inch tyres have no suspension in the documented configuration.

Emerald offers separate MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 packages. Its manual identifies pitch trim and no wing flaps; the Spoiler axis operates the choke instead.

An illustrated guide to the MU-2 cockpit

The MU-2's centre console carries an autopilot panel below the trim lever. The guide describes separate heading, localiser-capture, glideslope and altitude-hold modes. Selecting ALT holds the current altitude; a separate turn control commands bank, while the vertical-speed selector provides climb or descent control.

Choosing classic or modern radio equipment

The tablet can exchange the classic radios and transponder for a modern panel. The guide notes an electrical prerequisite for the modern instruments: both radio switches and the inverter switch must be on. Those switches supply power to the instruments.

Find a control through the built-in checklist

The 2023 guide documents simulator checklists with a view shortcut beside each item, taking the camera to the relevant control. It also provides an auto-complete option for working through an item more quickly.

Mitsubishi MU-2 ↗Research-based aircraft background

Mitsubishi MU-2

The MU-2 first flew in 1963 and became a major postwar Japanese civil-aircraft programme. Two turboprops power its compact high-wing airframe, built in short- and long-fuselage versions.

Spoilers provide roll control, leaving extensive wing area available for flaps. The specification tables and simulator documentation identify the represented fuselage and equipment.
