Meet Lancair Evolution
The Evolution was developed by Lancair and continued through Evolution Aircraft as an amateur-built design. Its low wing and compact cabin are arranged for high-performance personal travel. Both turbine and piston power have appeared in the programme.
An individual homebuilt aircraft can have equipment choices that differ from another example. Laminar's X-Plane model is based on a particular aircraft, N844X, so its cockpit and trim arrangement should be described from that implementation's manual rather than assumed to represent every Evolution.

One real aircraft's equipment choices
Laminar models the Evolution after N844X, with that aircraft's particular cockpit and autopilot. There is no trim wheel in the represented panel: mapped commands operate pitch trim and the multifunction display shows its position. That is a specific installation within a kit-built aircraft family.
