AIRCRAFT MANUFACTURER

Douglas

The American aircraft manufacturer behind the DC transport series.

The company and its aircraft

Donald Douglas founded the Douglas Aircraft Company in 1921. Its aircraft helped define several eras of civil and military transport. Douglas merged with McDonnell Aircraft in 1967 to form McDonnell Douglas; the original Douglas identity remains useful for aircraft such as the DC-3, C-47 and DC-6.
