FOR AIRCRAFT DEVELOPERS

Research aircraft and systems

Find aircraft background, systems descriptions and manuals for the aircraft you are researching. Each note keeps its source and version context close by.

Simulator manuals describe the developer’s implementation. Aircraft background is research-based; pilot accounts describe an individual’s experience. Coverage here is limited to the selected notes and linked resources, not the full contents of every manual.

Pitch and roll mechanisms

The manual's control schematic shows a hydraulic aileron servo with an artificial-feel spring and electrical trim actuator. Pitch trim and roll artificial-feel neutral adjustment are separate from rudder trim. The A, A-MLU and PAN configurations also carry different tank and loadout arrangements.

Aermacchi MB-339

Aermacchi developed the MB-339 during the 1970s to replace the Italian Air Force's MB-326. The new trainer retained a design relationship to that aircraft. A single jet engine, retractable landing gear and wing flaps form its basic configuration.

IndiaFoxtEcho's documentation separates the A, A-MLU and PAN versions. Tip-tank and loadout arrangements differ, while PAN uses combined smoke/fuel tanks. The control schematic identifies a hydraulic aileron servo, artificial-feel spring and electrical trim actuator.

Aero Designs Mini-IMP ↗Research-based aircraft background

Aero Designs Mini-IMP

The Mini-IMP puts its single occupant ahead of a pusher propeller and an inverted V-tail. The designer’s cockpit description places the pilot in a reclining seat under a canopy, with mechanical rods carrying the control inputs to a mixer and cables continuing aft. Its unusual outline comes from packaging the pilot, engine and tail around a compact single-seat aircraft.

The tail surfaces combine rudder and elevator functions. Pitch trim changes the tail’s incidence rather than moving an elevator trim tab. The wing-camber adjustment also participates in the design’s trim arrangement.

Mini-IMP company prototype gear installation; homebuilt equipment may differ.

Flaperons, trim and panel choices

The manual lists flaperon positions of 0, 10 and 20 degrees and identifies a pitch-trim lever. GMC307 and KAP140 panels are alternative cockpit arrangements. The software's adjustable cosmetic vibration is a separate presentation setting.

Aeroprakt A32 Vixxen

The A32 Vixxen in Got Friends' manual uses a 100 hp Rotax 912iS and a fixed three-bladed propeller. Its wheeled configurations use 15-inch or 17.6-inch tyres. Flaperons combine the functions associated with roll control and flap extension.

The simulator offers alternative GMC307 and KAP140 cockpit arrangements. Its pitch-trim lever is separate from those avionics choices, and cosmetic vibration has its own adjustment.

A pre-sidestick Airbus flight deck

The A310 guide covers hydraulic-system checks, pitch trim and yaw-damper activation in the context of inertial-reference alignment. It also documents rudder trim. These separate controls are part of the aircraft's older Airbus cockpit architecture, distinct from the automatic-trim sidestick family that followed.

Airbus A310-300 ↗Research-based aircraft background

Airbus A310-300

Airbus developed the A310 to serve a market below the larger A300. The first prototype flew in 1982, and the type entered airline service the following year. Its broad fuselage and two underwing engines retain the family resemblance, but it brought a new wing and a shorter cabin.

The A310-300 extended the design's range and used fuel in the horizontal stabilizer for trim management. Electronic displays and flight management sit alongside controls that predate the A320's sidestick fly-by-wire family.
