Cessna 408 SkyCourier

Textron launched the SkyCourier programme with FedEx as an important initial customer. The design is arranged around straightforward utility work: fixed landing gear, two wing-mounted turboprops and a large, boxy cabin. Passenger and freight configurations serve different operators.

It is a useful modern counterpart to the single-engine Caravan. The shared manufacturer and utility role do not make them the same aircraft: the SkyCourier has two engines, a larger cabin and its own systems and operating documentation.

Cessna CH-1 Skyhook

The CH-1 brought Cessna's familiar light-aircraft styling into a helicopter programme. It used a front-mounted piston engine and a two-blade main rotor; the Army's CH-1C designation was YH-41 Seneca. Although the design achieved altitude milestones, it did not become a commercial or military success comparable with Cessna's fixed-wing range.

A standalone Caravan with several working configurations

Black Square's Caravan Professional is a standalone aircraft, distinct from its earlier Analog Caravan expansion. The manual describes wheeled, cargo and amphibious configurations, a new exterior and cabin model, sounds and interactive aircraft features. Its analogue cockpit and systems form a different product from both the bundled glass-cockpit Grand Caravan and an instrument-panel replacement for it.

Configuration and flight-model development

Thranda's Caravan development includes configurable avionics and changes to its X-Plane flight model. The published history records trim balance, propeller drag, G1000 pitch-button behaviour, landing-gear springiness and stall-warning calibration changes. The release number is useful context when comparing observations about this particular Caravan.

Cessna Caravan family

The Caravan programme began in the early 1980s, with the prototype flying in 1982. Its high wing, fixed gear and large cabin were organised around practical utility work. The longer 208B developed into the Grand Caravan as well as dedicated freight configurations.

Wheeled aircraft, cargo pods and amphibious floats give the family several recognisable forms. Simulator versions also differ sharply in cockpit philosophy, from modern glass panels to analogue conversions and new standalone aircraft. Those products are described separately below.

Flight guidance and yaw damping are separate controls

The CJ4 guide documents a flight-guidance panel with flight-level-change, heading and navigation functions. It treats yaw-damper engagement separately from autopilot use and includes pilot-managed pitch trim. The dedicated CJ4 guide is the appropriate source for its cockpit, rather than documentation for another Citation model.

Cessna Citation CJ4

The CitationJet programme began with the Model 525, first flown in 1991, and developed through a series of larger and more capable CJ aircraft. The CJ4 is the Model 525C, a later branch of that family with a different wing and a stretched cabin.

Its cockpit should not be confused with that of an early CitationJet or M2. The simulator implementations and Working Title documentation describe the CJ4's own avionics, flight guidance and equipment, which are more useful than generic specifications for the whole Citation range.

Three axes, different control paths

The Longitude guide describes mechanical pitch and roll controls, hydraulically operated roll spoilers and an electronically controlled rudder. Its simulated hydraulic failures can affect rudder, yaw-damper and spoiler authority. The guide also marks locks, disconnects and secondary trim as unmodelled in the documented version. Engine FADEC, the APU and fuel transfer have their own detailed sections.
