FOR AIRCRAFT DEVELOPERS

Research aircraft and systems

Find aircraft background, systems descriptions and manuals for the aircraft you are researching. Each note keeps its source and version context close by.

Simulator manuals describe the developer’s implementation. Aircraft background is research-based; pilot accounts describe an individual’s experience. Coverage here is limited to the selected notes and linked resources, not the full contents of every manual.

The represented Sequoia configuration

Echo's rendition uses the 180 hp AEIO-360-B1E, a constant-speed Hartzell propeller and an inverted fuel system. It retains analogue instruments and direct mechanical controls. The product's published cruise and stall figures describe that rendition.

Falco F8L ↗Research-based aircraft background

Falco F8L

Stelio Frati designed the Falco in 1955 as a two-seat Italian sport aircraft. Wood and fabric construction, a tapered wing and direct mechanical controls form the airframe described by Echo Simulations.

Echo models the Sequoia configuration with a 180 hp Lycoming AEIO-360-B1E, constant-speed Hartzell propeller and inverted fuel system. An analogue cockpit accompanies that installation.

Fuel gauges show the main tanks only

The main-panel gauges display the left and right main tanks. Float and optional drop-tank fuel has no separate quantity indication there; overhead pumps transfer it into the corresponding main tank.

Grumman F3F-2 ↗Research-based aircraft background

Grumman F3F-2

The F3F was the last biplane fighter to serve on the U.S. Navy front line. The F3F-2 was the second of three F3F versions, with greater fuel capacity and range than the F3F-1; the Naval Aviation Museum also records Marine Corps service for the type.

Speed limits in the manual

The manual gives a Mach 0.80 limit, flap limits of 220, 175 and 165 KIAS, and a 220 KIAS gear limit. VMO varies with the ventral-fuel configuration; the published 447–449-knot maximum cruise figures describe a different performance measure.
