FOR AIRCRAFT DEVELOPERS

Research aircraft and systems

Find aircraft background, systems descriptions and manuals for the aircraft you are researching. Each note keeps its source and version context close by.

Simulator manuals describe the developer’s implementation. Aircraft background is research-based; pilot accounts describe an individual’s experience. Coverage here is limited to the selected notes and linked resources, not the full contents of every manual.

Piper PA-20 Pacer ↗Research-based aircraft background

Piper PA-20 Pacer

Lionheart's Pacer collection explores several physical configurations of Piper's short-wing family. Its five models vary in tailwheel or tricycle gear, bush tyres and wing configuration, and amphibious equipment. Panel colours and wheel skirts are presentation options within those models.

The amphibian has retractable wheels in its floats. The seller's Build 5:1.3.21 description names five models and lists MSFS 2020 and 2024 support.

Piper PA-22 Tri-Pacer ↗Research-based aircraft background

Piper PA-22 Tri-Pacer

The Tri-Pacer is the tricycle-gear member of Piper’s compact cabin-aircraft line represented in Lionheart’s Pacer Series. That package also includes tailwheel and specialized Pacer configurations, placing the undercarriage choice within a broader family of closely related light-aircraft forms.

Carenado’s PA22 product represents the Tri-Pacer in X-Plane. Its package includes normal and emergency procedures and performance tables. The Piper Aviation Museum preserves contemporary Tri-Pacer sales brochures and equipment sheets, providing a period reference alongside these later simulator renditions.

The Arrow’s fuel and electrical indications

The Arrow III manual describes two wing tanks feeding a selector with left, right and off positions, supported by engine-driven and electric pumps. Its ammeter indicates electrical load, not battery discharge.

The Turbo Arrow has its own pump and warning controls

Just Flight represents both the conventional-tail Turbo Arrow III and T-tail IV. Their manual describes a three-position auxiliary fuel-pump switch, a separate primer control and an overboost warning in the annunciator panel. These details distinguish the turbocharged cockpit from the normally aspirated Arrow.

A simpler Warrior, with a distinct electrical fallback

The Warrior II manual describes the fixed-gear, 160 hp configuration and two wing fuel tanks. An avionics power switch controls its radio bus, while an emergency bus switch provides another supply path if that switch circuit fails. The cockpit has separate controls for these electrical systems.

The Arrow's stabilator and landing-gear system

Just Flight's Arrow manual describes an all-moving stabilator with an anti-servo/trim tab, plus spring-centred rudder trim. It also covers the automatic landing-gear extension system fitted to the represented aircraft. The stabilator moves as a unit, unlike a fixed tailplane with a separate elevator.

Turbo Arrow flight controls

The Turbo Arrow manual describes the stabilator's anti-servo/trim tab and the spring-centred rudder-trim mechanism. These controls remain separate from the turbocharged engine's management. The dedicated manual describes the Turbo Arrow's configuration.

Flaps, pitch and the stabilator

Just Flight's Warrior documentation describes the pitch changes associated with flap movement and the use of stabilator trim to relieve sustained control pressure. It also identifies the rudder's spring-trim arrangement. The manual describes how the trim mechanism acts on the controls.

The X-Plane 12 Archer TX/LX’s glass cockpit

Just Flight and Thranda’s TX/LX represents the modernised Archer with G1000 displays and an EFD 1000 standby unit on a secondary power system. The developer lists optional synthetic vision and GFC 700 controls. This configuration differs from the analogue PA-28 variants grouped in the same family.

Use the tablet to configure a personal aircraft

The TX/LX’s EFB includes weight and balance, aircraft state, engine condition, interactive checklists and dynamic paint schemes. Its electrical breakers connect to X-Plane’s failure logic. The page also documents selectable spark-plug fouling and vapour-lock effects, giving the cockpit displays and configuration menus specific systems to explore.

REP for Just Flight Arrow aircraft · SimCoders · X-Plane 11 · X-Plane 12

The normally aspirated REP requires the X-Plane 12 Arrow

SimCoders explicitly requires Just Flight’s X-Plane 12 Arrow III for this enhancement. It excludes both the Turbo Arrow and the older X-Plane 11 Arrow. Documented additions include a custom IO-360 engine model, automatic gear extension, an interactive walkaround and a maintenance hangar with persistent aircraft condition.
