FOR AIRCRAFT DEVELOPERS

Research aircraft and systems

Find aircraft background, systems descriptions and manuals for the aircraft you are researching. Each note keeps its source and version context close by.

Simulator manuals describe the developer’s implementation. Aircraft background is research-based; pilot accounts describe an individual’s experience. Coverage here is limited to the selected notes and linked resources, not the full contents of every manual.

Tensor simulator editions

The Tensor 600X product is released for X-Plane 11 and 12. VSKYLABS says it used aircraft development information supplied for the project; the real aircraft’s prototype status is distinct from simulator availability.

Tensor 600X ↗Research-based aircraft background

Tensor 600X

The German Tensor 600X is a tandem two-seat autogyro prototype. An autorotating main rotor provides lift, with a separate system producing forward thrust.

VSKYLABS developed its X-Plane 11 and 12 simulation using information supplied for the Tensor project. Those simulator products are released; the physical aircraft remains a prototype in the selected documentation.

Tipsy B ↗Research-based aircraft background

Tipsy B

The Tipsy B developed from Ernest Oscar Tips’ single-seat Tipsy S into a two-seat touring aircraft. Belgian aviation historian Jean-Pierre Decock describes a wooden, fabric-covered low-wing monoplane with an elliptical cantilever wing and staggered side-by-side seats in an open cockpit. The prototype used a 50-hp Walter Mikron engine.

Belgian production began in 1937, including enclosed-cockpit Bc aircraft. British Trainer developments were another branch of the programme.
