Wear that continues into the next flight

The optional maintenance system carries equipment wear between flights, including engines, the APU, generators and airframe. The developer also describes annunciator bulbs that can burn out, making condition checks part of the simulated operation.

Choosing navigation and keeping notes in the cockpit

The package includes Laminar’s default FMC; the CIVA navigation integration requires a separate purchase. The scalable menu provides loading controls and a configurable checklist-and-notes window, allowing reference material to stay available during a flight.

Released product and variants

The released range includes 727-200 Passenger and Freighter products, a Super27 expansion that requires either 727-200 base, and a 727-100 package containing Passenger, Freighter and Super27-100 variants. The freighter also includes Zero-G and Oil Spill Response mission configurations.

Boeing 727

Boeing developed the 727 after the 707, arranging three engines around the rear fuselage and a high T-tail. The first flight took place in 1963, with service following in 1964. Its elaborate high-lift wing supported the programme's airport-access ambitions.

The -100 and longer -200 have different proportions, while freighter conversions add another role. In the cockpit, a flight engineer and period autopilot installations create a very different workflow from a modern 737. The simulator developer documents which installation its aircraft represents.

Visible switches do not all imply working systems

Laminar's 737 guide documents hydraulic source controls and the STAB OUT OF TRIM indication. It also limits the pictured flight-control panel's implemented functionality to the yaw damper. That explicit note is useful when comparing the bundled 737 with a more extensively developed add-on.

Saved flights retain their failure state

PMDG’s November 2022 manual distinguishes a reusable panel configuration from a saved flight. Active and armed failures are retained when restoring a saved flight, so resuming a flight also resumes that fault scenario. The STARTUP STATE option selects a consistent starting configuration.

Wheel chocks control ground-service availability

The documented ground-service menu requires the chocks to be set before services become available. Removing them also removes connected services. The menu uses red and green status colours to indicate whether equipment still prevents aircraft movement.
