FOR AIRCRAFT DEVELOPERS

Research aircraft and systems

Find aircraft background, systems descriptions and manuals for the aircraft you are researching. Each note keeps its source and version context close by.

Simulator manuals describe the developer’s implementation. Aircraft background is research-based; pilot accounts describe an individual’s experience. Coverage here is limited to the selected notes and linked resources, not the full contents of every manual.

Boom XB-1 ↗Research-based aircraft background

Boom XB-1

Boom's XB-1 is an experimental aircraft, not a passenger-carrying version of Overture. Its slender fuselage and highly swept wing are paired with three General Electric J85 engines. The demonstrator first flew in March 2024 and reached supersonic flight during its 2025 test programme.

Its value in a simulator is the chance to examine a specialised experimental cockpit and an unusual flight envelope. The developer's guide describes conventional flight controls and specific pitch-feel and roll mechanisms; the aircraft should not be described as fly-by-wire simply because it is modern.

Bristell B23 ↗Simulator documentation

Bristell B23 · Airfoillabs · MSFS 2020

The described cockpit includes a LEVEL control

The B23 page describes two G3X Touch displays, GNC255, GTX345, GMC507 with a LEVEL button, and an L3 backup instrument. This identifies the published cockpit fit without establishing every function’s runtime behaviour.

The product body distinguishes the current simulator from a plan

The product text identifies MSFS 2020 as the supported platform and describes X-Plane 12 as a longer-term plan. Its generic page header should not be read as evidence of an available X-Plane edition.

Bristell B23

The Bristell name covers related light aircraft from BRM Aero, including the B23 represented by Airfoillabs. The collected family reference describes Milan Bristela's low-wing, side-by-side design lineage. Specifications and photographs need their own model labels: the Bristell Classic and B23 should not silently inherit each other's weights or certification details.

Released product and variants

Javier Rollón’s X-Plane version centres on custom aircraft systems and manual or assisted engine starts. His development account describes building the aircraft’s C++ systems after completing the CRJ200, and later updating its materials and avionics for X-Plane 11.

British Aerospace Jetstream 32

The Jetstream 32 puts two turboprops on a low wing around a narrow passenger cabin. Its regional-airline role brings engine management, pressurisation and short-sector flying together in a compact aircraft.

Arrange an Islander cockpit and cabin around the mission

Thranda’s XP12 BN-2A offers a movable instrument panel with five presets, optional RealityXP integration and instruments that can open in separate windows. Individual seats can be hidden to make space for visible cargo. The loading menu also controls the optional belly pod and saves configurations.
