Dassault Falcon 8X

The Falcon 8X extends the 7X lineage through aerodynamic changes, engine optimization and additional fuel capacity. First deliveries took place in October 2016. The collected background reference covers both aircraft, so 7X figures are not automatically assigned to the 8X. The simulator product's development status is shown separately from the real aircraft's service history.

Choose the variant to match the mission equipment

The manual assigns different hoists, cargo hooks and firefighting attachments to its nine variants. Career activities follow those configurations; the HH-65B HITRON fit is cosmetic and is listed as a display/free-flight variant.

Two helicopters, two automatic flight-control systems

Taog's AS365N2 uses the AP155/CDV85 installation, while the HH-65A has a different four-axis AFCS and flight-director system. Their upper modes can take control of the collective as well as the cyclic. The manual explains collective alignment, trim-release behaviour and the accommodations for spring-centred desktop controls. It is worth selecting the aircraft variant before selecting its control bindings.

Variant-specific hardware controls

The binding guide publishes separate input events for the Dauphin and HH-65. Axis values use the documented -16384 to 16384 range, and momentary buttons require both press and release actions. Similar display names do not make the two variants' events interchangeable. The technical-reference entries retain the exact identifiers rather than inventing a shared mapping.

Dauphin AS365 / HH-65

The Dauphin developed at Aérospatiale and continued through Eurocopter and Airbus. Its smooth fuselage and enclosed tail rotor became familiar in passenger, police, rescue and government roles. The family includes naval and coastguard derivatives with specialised equipment.

The AS365N2 and HH-65A in Taog's package have distinct automatic flight-control installations. That is a substantive systems difference within a shared family, and a good example of why an aircraft reference needs more than a developer name and a storefront link.
