FOR AIRCRAFT DEVELOPERS

Research aircraft and systems

Find aircraft background, systems descriptions and manuals for the aircraft you are researching. Each note keeps its source and version context close by.

Simulator manuals describe the developer’s implementation. Aircraft background is research-based; pilot accounts describe an individual’s experience. Coverage here is limited to the selected notes and linked resources, not the full contents of every manual.

AFCS shaping and direct mode

The manual describes AFCS shaping and stabilisation that automatically operate pitch and roll trim. Direct mode disables control shaping. The aircraft has no wing flaps; its flap bindings arm F.A.C.T. instead.

Flying Fries Quasar

The Quasar is Flying Fries' futuristic simulator design. Its creator describes developing the idea from 2023, with the aircraft's design and features changing during the project. K.A.R.A. voice assistance, interactive checklists and cockpit cautions support its simulated systems.

The aircraft has no flaps. Flap bindings instead arm F.A.C.T., while the AFCS shapes and stabilises the pitch and roll controls and operates their trims. Direct mode disables that shaping.

Controls for air and water

The steering-wheel control operates pitch and roll, with a tab supplying pitch trim. Hydraulic wing flaps have mechanical automatic ground retraction. Sea water rudders are assigned to the parking-brake binding and work with the landing gear up.

Flying Fries Scrapyard Monster

The Scrapyard Monster is Flying Fries' fictional aircraft, offered in bush and sea forms. Its manual describes an adapted Cosworth-derived V12 concept and deliberately exaggerated performance, alongside a steering-wheel-like pitch and roll control.

Pitch trim acts through a tab. Hydraulic wing flaps have mechanical automatic ground retraction; in the Sea version, water rudders use the parking-brake binding and require the gear to be raised.

Primary controls and stabiliser trim

The manual identifies manual pushrod controls and electric stabiliser trim. Its dedicated flap page gives 0, 13 and 58 degrees and a 250 km/h deployment procedure. Elsewhere it uses 15 degrees and a 300 km/h Vfe, with inconsistent Vd/Vne entries. These remain separate source passages.

Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-8

FlyingIron's Fw 190 A-8 manual describes manual pushrod primary controls and electric stabiliser trim. Its dedicated flap section lists 0, 13 and 58 degrees, with a 250 km/h deployment procedure.

Other passages give different flap and speed values. Later product updates revise the flight model and add a persistent rudder trim-tab setting adjusted on the ground.

Fokker 50 ↗Research-based aircraft background

Fokker 50

The Fokker 50 flight-controls document describes mechanical rods and cables, spring and balance tabs for the ailerons, electrical roll trim and a manually operated elevator trim tab. The elevator flight-control and longitudinal stability augmentation systems modify pitch feel. The wing flaps are hydraulically operated.

Select the configuration before the livery

The guide lists a single-engine transport, original Southern Cross trimotor, Friendship floatplane, modern retrofits and ski-equipped Josephine Ford. Aircraft selection comes before the separate livery tab.
