Find aircraft background, systems descriptions and manuals for the aircraft you are researching. Each note keeps its source and version context close by.
Simulator manuals describe the developer’s implementation. Aircraft background is research-based; pilot accounts describe an individual’s experience. Coverage here is limited to the selected notes and linked resources, not the full contents of every manual.
Piaggio P.180 Avanti II
The P.180 combines forward aerodynamic surfaces, rear-mounted pusher propellers and a pressurised executive cabin. FlightFX's manual describes cable-and-bellcrank aileron controls and elevator runs using rods and cables.
Pitch trim moves the horizontal stabiliser, while roll trim uses a servo tab on the right aileron. The original MSFS 2020 and native MSFS 2024 packages have separate product descriptions.

Piel CP301 Emeraude
The Piel CP301 Emeraude has piston propulsion, fixed tailwheel landing gear and manually operated flaps. Restauravia's cockpit diagram identifies a central flap lever and an elevator-trim handle. The conversion is supplied for MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024.

The v1.1.0 trim change
Emerald's v1.1.0 update uses ELEVATOR TRIM PCT EX1 for the aircraft's trim interaction in MSFS 2024.

Different assistance by axis
The flight evaluation describes pitch as mechanically reversible, allowing aerodynamic loads to act through the controls. Roll uses boosted ailerons and roll spoilers. It also reports the real aircraft's trim aid device moving the rudder pedals. These are descriptions of the aircraft mechanisms and the evaluator's experience.

The IRIS cockpit
IRIS's manual identifies three-axis trim indications, a PT6 turboprop, retractable gear and flaps. It marks the TAD cockpit toggle as unimplemented and describes optional GTN750 integration and custom display pages.

Pilatus PC-21
The PC-21's control system uses different mechanisms in pitch and roll. A Pilatus-hosted flight evaluation describes mechanically reversible pitch control, hydraulically boosted ailerons and roll spoilers. The real aircraft's trim aid device can move the rudder pedals.
IRIS represents the turboprop trainer with retractable landing gear, flaps and three-axis trim indications. Its manual marks the TAD cockpit toggle as unimplemented, so the real system and the available simulator control have separate descriptions.

Trim and undercarriage details
The handbook identifies a manual stick, elevator trim and no flaps. Wheeled aircraft have a steerable tailwheel and brakes; the float version has a water-rudder retract handle. The manual notes slow simulator elevator-trim operation.

Piper L-4 Grasshopper
The L-4 adapted Piper's J-3 Cub to military observation and liaison work. Historian Ken Wakefield's introduction to the Flight Replicas manual describes artillery air-observation duties and transport of priority mail and personnel between command posts.
Flight Replicas represents wheeled and float configurations. Its cockpit retains a manual stick and elevator trim, with no flaps; the float equipment includes a water-rudder retract handle.

Controls and a handbook conflict
The represented aircraft has manual stick controls, pitch trim and no flaps. The guide warns that controller-operated elevator trim is slow. Its speed references contain an unresolved conflict: page 7 prints Vne as 226 mph, while page 9 gives 122 mph maximum diving speed. Both remain identified by their source pages.

Piper PA-11 Cub Special
The PA-11 developed the J-3 Cub before the later PA-18 Super Cub. Its changes included an enclosed engine cowling, a larger 18-gallon fuel tank moved into the left wing and revised seats. The first flight was in 1945.
Flight Replicas represents a present-day aircraft with radio, transponder and electrical master switches. Its manual identifies a stick, pitch trim, fixed tailwheel gear and no flaps.

Finding the controls in Laminar’s PA-18-150
Laminar identifies its model as a PA-18-150. The cockpit guide places the throttle, carburettor-heat control and rotary trim handle on the left side, with a separate three-position flap lever. It describes brake pedals distinct from the rudder pedals, overhead fuel sight gauges and an electrical switch panel. The sight gauges provide approximate indications, with reduced accuracy at low fuel levels. The guide maps this particular simulated cockpit, including its installed equipment.
