Find aircraft background, systems descriptions and manuals for the aircraft you are researching. Each note keeps its source and version context close by.
Simulator manuals describe the developer’s implementation. Aircraft background is research-based; pilot accounts describe an individual’s experience. Coverage here is limited to the selected notes and linked resources, not the full contents of every manual.

Systems, loading and cockpit-building facilities
FlightFactor describes custom hydraulic and electrical systems, a three-channel autopilot with failure dependencies, and loading and fuel changes that affect centre of gravity. The product also provides cockpit-interaction and live-dataref facilities for builders. Passenger, cargo and engine choices belong to the selected package, so those options should be checked alongside the systems description.

A separately developed wide-body simulation
FlightFactor's 767 has its own custom systems and avionics documentation, including cockpit-interaction facilities. The published product description covers hydraulic and electrical behaviour, loading, maintenance-related features and flight-management functions. Its relationship to the 757 does not make the two add-ons' controls or supported interfaces interchangeable.

The Dreamliner's own cockpit preparation
The 787-10 guide documents electrical and hydraulic setup and its flight-deck procedures as a separate aircraft. Its flight-management and automation references belong to this implementation, rather than being inferred from the visually related Boeing displays in another package.

Citation Longitude · Microsoft Flight Simulator · MSFS 2024
Three axes, different control paths
The Longitude guide describes mechanical pitch and roll controls, hydraulically operated roll spoilers and an electronically controlled rudder. Its simulated hydraulic failures can affect rudder, yaw-damper and spoiler authority. The guide also marks locks, disconnects and secondary trim as unmodelled in the documented version. Engine FADEC, the APU and fuel transfer have their own detailed sections.

Cessna Citation Longitude
The Longitude is Cessna's Model 700. It first flew in 2016 and received certification in 2019. The design uses the Latitude's fuselage cross-section with a longer cabin, paired with a new swept wing and Honeywell turbofan engines.
Its modern appearance does not imply that every primary control is fly-by-wire. The simulator operator's guide distinguishes mechanical pitch and roll controls, hydraulic roll spoilers and the electronically controlled rudder. Those differences make the Longitude a particularly useful aircraft for systems-minded readers.

Attitude and direction control from an earlier era
The C-46 manual describes the Sperry Gyropilot and hydraulic instrumentation. Its automation maintains attitude and direction rather than acting like a modern flight-management system that follows an entire route. That distinction helps make sense of the controls in this large piston transport.

The Twin Otter's working cockpit
The aircraft operating manual identifies the armrest-mounted autopilot controls, trim and flap indications, and hydraulic-pressure instrumentation. These details sit alongside the package's utility configurations, helping connect the familiar exterior with the systems inside the simulator aircraft.

More than engines and a flight-management computer
FlyJSim lists geared control tabs, pitch and roll disconnects, a gust lock, hydraulic distribution and stall protection among the Q4XP's modelled systems. Its UNS-1Ew flight-management system and PW150A engine simulation sit within that wider aircraft model. The reviewed requirements specify X-Plane 12.09 or later, rather than every release of X-Plane 12.

A period Gyropilot and hydraulic system
The C-47 has separate trim controls and a Sperry Gyropilot for maintaining a selected attitude and direction. Its hydraulic system also serves landing gear, flaps and other auxiliaries. The manual explains the pump and selector arrangement, providing context for a cockpit that predates modern route-following autopilots.

Choose a period or modernised cockpit
The DC-3 guide describes trim tabs and hydraulically operated auxiliary systems. It also offers a vintage Sperry installation or a modern GNS/autopilot configuration. Those choices represent different cockpit equipment, making the selected version important when looking up navigation or automation controls.
